Just want to elaborate on the "suction cup" conversation.....

What you want is a "portable" fish finder.

Almost every company has a portable version of their regular line of FF's.

I have a portable and it has a suction cup transducer and occasionally it will lose suction and fall off. So, I actually made, (out of PVC pipe), a "transducer holder" that attaches to the side of my kayak or canoe. All you need is a clamp, some nuts & bolts, and some PVC piping!

If you don't even want to fool with making something www. cabelas.com has one that you can purchase starting at $20. Check their marine section.........

Hope this helps ya? Good luck!

Thumbs to FS and Hog!
References :
I have a sevylor fish hunter inflatable boat. I use a fish finder that has a suction cup transducer so it stays on and removes easily. I would highly recomend it
References :
http://bigfishanglers.proboards84.com

The "Radar" part is called a transducer. Ya' say your lookin' at a Zodiac or somethin' similiar? Let me know what it be and I may just be able ta' help ya' out. If it will accept a trolling motor it has some kind of transom to it which the transducer can be mounted. Tape (even Duct Tape) and or glue wouldn't be the answer unless your just usin' oars? ;)...< ' ( (( > <

UPDATE: hoghunter gave ya' a pretty good solution :) :)!! Link will show you somethin' similiar ta' what I believe he's referrin' to. May have ta' get it for the specific brand fishfinder you have though?
